The 6th Edition of the Rwanda Youth Tour has officially kicked off, bringing together young Rwandans from the diaspora to reconnect with Rwanda’s history, culture, development journey, and the opportunities available to contribute to the country's future. The programme is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MINAFFET), the Ministry of Youth and Arts (MoYA), Rwanda National Police, and the Rwanda Youth Club.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Minister of State for Youth and Arts, Hon. Sandrine Umutoni, encouraged participants to use the Rwanda Youth Tour as an opportunity to deepen their understanding of Rwanda and engage in conversations with confidence, humility, and, most importantly, facts.

Addressing the participants, she noted that while some were returning to Rwanda after many years and others were visiting for the first time, they all share a common bond with their homeland.

“Some of you are returning after many years. Others are here for the first time. Regardless of where you grew up or where life has taken you, this is your home, and Rwanda remains part of your story.”

Hon. Sandrine Umutoni also expressed appreciation to the Rwanda Youth Club for sustaining the youth-led initiative and commended the participants for choosing to reconnect with their homeland. She encouraged them to embrace the journey with curiosity as they explore Rwanda’s history, culture, and development.

The Rwanda Youth Tour continues to provide a platform for young Rwandans in the diaspora to strengthen their connection with their country, deepen their understanding of its transformation, and explore opportunities to contribute to Rwanda’s continued development.
