Africa Creative Economy Lens Summit Opens with Call for Bold Investment in Creatives

PS Ngabo Brave urges innovative financing to position Rwanda and Africa as a global creative hub.

The creative stakeholders from across Africa gathered at the opening of the Africa Creative Economy Lens Summit, themed “Investing in Africa’s Creative Industries for Sustainable Growth.” Organized by Africa in colors and Africa Creatives Alliance, the event highlighted the urgent need for stronger investment in the sector.

In his remarks, Permanent Secretary Ngabo Brave called for bold financing models to empower artists and innovators, noting that many still face challenges in accessing funding, working capital, equipment, and mobility support. He emphasized Rwanda’s ambition to become a creative hub for Africa, grounded in its modern infrastructure, digital readiness, entrepreneurial spirit, and reputation for safety and efficiency. Stressing the importance of collective action between governments, the private sector, and creatives, 

PS Ngabo Brave urged stakeholders to ensure that Africa’s creative economy is not only celebrated but also scaled up as a pillar of sustainable development for the continent.
