Africa’s Youth Celebrated at BK Arena During Giants of Africa Festival
Over 2,000 young leaders from across Africa gathered at BK Arena for the International Youth Forum, spotlighting the energy, innovation, and future potential of Africa’s next generation.
BK Arena in Kigali, the Ministry of Youth and Arts (MoYA) Imbuto Foundation, ALX Africa, and Giants of Africa hosted more than 2,000 youth from across the continent to mark the International Youth Forum. The event, held under the Giants of Africa Festival, served as a powerful reminder of Africa’s untapped potential and the critical role young people play in shaping the continent’s future.
Minister UTUMATWISHIMA Abdallah emphasized that being a "Giant" is about mindset, not just physical stature or fame—encouraging youth to lead in fields beyond basketball, including business, arts, innovation, and global leadership. He expressed deep gratitude to all partners for investing in the transformation of Africa’s youth, saying, “Turi kumwe—We are together.”

The Giants of Africa Co-Founder Masai Ujiri delivered a heartfelt thank you to Rwanda, the giants of Africa partners, and especially African’s youth. He reminded everyone that leaders like him started with humble beginnings-just like today's youth and urged them to believe in themselves, dream big and lift others as they rise” take it, run with it, and make this continent something.
