Minister of State Sandrine Umutoni, Permanent Secretary Ngabo Brave, and Permanent Secretary Candy Basomingera from the Ministry of Sports joined a CCI Cluster Coordination Meeting that brought together industry leaders, strategic development partners, creative talent, and business drivers to discuss the future of Rwanda’s cultural and creative industries sector.

During the meeting, MoS Sandrine Umutoni emphasized that Rwanda’s cultural and creative industries sector is entering a new phase that requires stronger coordination, collaboration, and strategic alignment among all stakeholders. She noted that the revival of the CCI Cluster Coordination platform reflects the Government’s commitment to building a more connected and sustainable creative economy ecosystem. She called for deliberate and structured collaboration across the sector, stressing the need for stronger alignment between policy and implementation, talent and financing, as well as infrastructure, training, investment, and market access.

MoS Sandrine Umutoni reiterated that the purpose of the cluster is not simply to convene meetings, but to improve collaboration, strengthen coordination, identify bottlenecks, and collectively accelerate the development of Rwanda’s creative economy.

PS Ngabo Brave highlighted the importance of investing in world-class creative infrastructure, including regional hubs and a continental creative arena envisioned in Kigali. Addressing creatives, he emphasized that every policy, financing mechanism, and creative hub being developed is designed to support their growth and success.

The meeting concluded with a call for collective action and stronger coordination among stakeholders. PS Ngabo Brave underscored that Rwanda’s transformation in the creative economy will depend on deliberate collaboration and sustained commitment, noting that the question is no longer whether transformation is possible, but how quickly it can be achieved.
