Minister Abdallah Welcomes Namibia’s Former First Lady, Monica Geingos, for Youth Leadership Partnership.
This afternoon, Hon. Minister Abdallah Utumatwishima received Her Excellency Monica Geingos, the 3rd First Lady of Namibia and Chairperson of the One Economy Foundation (OEF).
Their meeting centered around shared goals in youth development and leadership cultivation, with both leaders expressing strong interest in cross-border collaboration. They discussed the roles of the Ministry and the One Economy Foundation in equipping the next generation of African leaders with the tools, spaces, and mentorship they need to thrive.
A key highlight of their exchange was the announcement that the One Economy Foundation is preparing to launch its Leadership Lab Yetu in Rwanda. This pan-African initiative is designed to foster multigenerational leadership across the continent by offering a collaborative space where young people can exchange ideas, co-create solutions, and sharpen their leadership skills.
Minister Abdallah affirmed Rwanda’s continued commitment to providing an enabling environment for youth empowerment and meaningful engagement and welcomed the opening of Leadership Lab Yetu as a timely addition to existing national efforts that promote innovation, civic participation, and leadership excellence among young people.
