Minister of State Sandrine Umutoni attended the Africa Food Systems Forum-Rwanda Legacy Program

Friday, 6 September 2024, Minister of State Sandrine Umutoni attended the Africa Food Systems Forum-Rwanda Legacy Program, at the Africa Food System Forum 2024 which aimed to transform agriculture, create jobs for youth & women, and boost food security in Rwanda.

She highlighted challenges facing youth in agriculture, including limited resources, insufficient knowledge about the entire agriculture value chain & climate vulnerability, making agriculture less attractive & leading them to seek urban employment instead.

MoS Sandrine Umutoni: “MoYA will continue to incentivize youth through access to agricultural inputs, data-driven knowledge, and finance by collectively undertaking key actions” 

Minister of State for Youth and Arts, Sandrine Umutoni emphasized that youth involvement in agriculture is essential for ensuring food security, affordability, and safety. Additionally, it provides opportunities for decent and productive employment.
