Minister UTUMATWISHIMA Abdallah Highlights Youth Empowerment During Field Visit in Nyanza
During a field visit with UNFPA Rwanda, Minister UTUMATWISHIMA Abdallah emphasized the importance of investing in youth skills, health, and inclusive opportunities to build a stronger future.
Minister UTUMATWISHIMA Abdallah, alongside Governor KAYITESI Alice, joined UNFPA Rwanda in Nyanza District to assess the impact of the YEAH! model, which focuses on empowering young people through health, skills, and economic initiatives. At the Nyanza Youth Centre, the delegation explored youth-led activities from arts, tailoring, farming, and shoemaking to SRHR services and TVET startups—including those inclusive of youth with disabilities.
The Minister encouraged young people to prioritize their sexual and reproductive health, avoid dropping out of school, and take advantage of opportunities like the INGAZI Passport to Earning digital platform.
He also visited former construction trainees from TSS Busasamana who, after a 6-month scholarship, secured internships and sustainable jobs.
