Minister Utumatwishima called on young people to become the next generation of scientists, engineers, researchers, and innovators who will drive Africa’s transformation. Speaking at #NEISA2026, he encouraged youth to embrace science, technology, and innovation as key drivers of the continent’s sustainable development and competitiveness.

Emphasizing the importance of homegrown knowledge and solutions, the Minister noted that Africa must not only consume science developed elsewhere but also become a producer of scientific knowledge, research, and innovation that addresses its unique challenges and opportunities.
