MoS Sandrine Umutoni Champions Co-Creation for a Thriving Creative Sector.

During a co-creation session with key sector partners, MoS Sandrine Umutoni emphasized the collective responsibility of government, creatives, investors, and ecosystem enablers in shaping Rwanda’s next chapter in the creative economy.

As part of Africa Week 2025, MoS Sandrine Umutoni joined a co-creation session for creative entrepreneurs convened by Eeloom, HEVA Fund, Inzira Creative, BRD Bank, and RDB under the theme “Building a Thriving Creative Economy in Rwanda.”

She commended the organizers for bringing together key sectors to advance Rwanda’s creative ecosystem, noting that such spaces allow policymakers, creatives, financiers, and ecosystem enablers to co-design the systems that will shape the sector’s future.

Highlighting that Rwanda’s creative economy is at a defining moment, she emphasized the government’s role in enabling, aligning, and supporting—while calling on creatives, investors, educators, and ecosystem leaders to innovate and collaborate.

MoS Umutoni stressed that purposeful coordination is essential, as a thriving creative economy cannot be built by government alone. Together, she said, Rwanda can build a sector that creates dignified employment, strengthens national identity, protects intellectual property, and unlocks the full potential of its creative community.
