MoS Sandrine Umutoni joins Global Africa Creative Economy Roundtable at #CANEXWKND2024

Wednesday, 16th October 2024, In Algiers, Algeria, at the #CANEXWKND2024, Minister of State Sandrine Umutoni actively participated in the Ministerial Roundtable on the Global Africa Creative Economy, themed: “Unlocking Opportunities for Cultural and Creative Industries in Global Africa.”

She highlighted Rwanda’s unwavering commitment to nurturing its creative sector. She detailed the nation’s investments in capacity-building, infrastructure, and funding while stressing the critical role of robust intellectual property (IP) frameworks in protecting African creativity, especially as digital and AI technologies reshape the industry.

On the sidelines of the event, MoS Sandrine Umutoni held a productive bilateral meeting with Algeria’s Minister of Culture and Arts, Hon. Soraya Mouloudji.

They explored avenues to enhance cultural and creative exchanges between Rwanda and Algeria, emphasizing the importance of fostering deeper collaboration across Africa. This engagement underscores a shared vision of leveraging cultural industries as engines of growth and unity on the continent.
