MoYA and Bank of Kigali Launch #BKreative Initiative to Empower Rwanda’s Creative Sector

The Ministry of Youth and Arts (MoYA), in partnership with Bank of Kigali and BK Foundation, officially launched the #BKreative initiative, a program designed to empower creatives through improved access to finance and structured market opportunities. The initiative seeks to address long-standing challenges within the creative sector, particularly limited access to financial resources necessary for business growth and sustainability. 

Speaking at the event, music artist Kivumbi King highlighted financial literacy and funding constraints as major barriers facing creatives, noting that #BKreative will play a vital role in supporting artists to secure financing. 

The Minister of State emphasized that this is a timely intervention to unlock the sector’s potential, calling for a clear structure and a supportive ecosystem to attract investment. She commended Bank of Kigali for its commitment to the creative economy and encouraged other development partners to contribute toward strengthening the sector and boosting national economic
