MoYA, EU, UNESCO, and Rwanda Arts Council Launch National Mapping of Artists
The nationwide data collection aims to empower Rwanda’s creative sector through reliable information, new opportunities, and professional growth for artists.
Today,September 19,2025 The Ministry of Youth and Arts (MoYA), in partnership with the European Union (EU), UNESCO, and the Rwanda Arts Council, officially launched a national mapping of artists across Rwanda. The initiative will cover all 30 districts and is supported by 70 trained data collectors who will gather essential information to better understand and support the country’s creative community.
This exercise forms part of the 2025 project “Empowering Rwanda’s Arts Sectors,” which seeks to strengthen the creative economy through reliable data, the creation of new opportunities, district-level council restructuring, and the professionalisation of artists nationwide.
