PS Ngabo Brave Engages PLP Academy Graduates on Youth Empowerment and Opportunities

Permanent Secretary NGABO Brave encouraged fresh high school graduates in the third cohort of PLP Academy to embrace opportunities in entrepreneurship, arts, and national development projects. He emphasized values, discipline, and access to finance as key pillars for building a bright future for Rwanda’s youth.

This evening, September 4, 2025 Permanent Secretary NGABO Brave held an engaging conversation with graduates of the third cohort of the PLP Academy. His message centered on youth empowerment, opportunities in the creative sector, and the government’s commitment to supporting young people.

PS NGABO Brave highlighted several initiatives designed to create jobs for young people, including agriculture projects, the YouthConnekt Awards, ArtsConnekt, the Aguka Fund for young entrepreneurs, and national road maintenance programs. He encouraged youth to actively seize these opportunities and contribute to Rwanda’s development.

He stressed that the ministry’s primary focus is helping youth and artists access finance by creating a supportive environment. Ongoing discussions with commercial banks aim to design new financial products with lower interest rates, making it easier for young entrepreneurs and creatives to grow their projects.

“Anything that goes with the well-being of our young people is a big concern and our big vision,” PS Ngabo stated. “You cannot do anything for the country if you are not healthy. Health goes with values and discipline, because life is not only about money.”

The PS NGABO Brave further reminded graduates that what distinguishes Rwanda’s youth globally is their values and morals rooted in Rwandan culture. “If you embed them, you will not go for these alcohol and substance abuses,” he added, urging young people to safeguard their health and future through discipline and cultural pride.
