The Minister of State Sandrine Umutoni joined the Cultural Diplomacy Unconference 2025, a gathering that celebrates the role of arts and culture in building bridges across nations.

MoS Sandrine Umutoni emphasized the transformative power of cultural diplomacy, noting how Rwanda leverages storytelling and the arts to heal, rebuild trust, and foster unity from a painful past. She commended the Cultural Diplomacy Certificate Program for nurturing a new generation of cultural diplomats—architects of Rwanda’s global narrative through strategic communication. “From this flagship event, one message rings clear: Rwanda, as the rest of the African continent, will never cease telling its own story, in our most unapologetic and authentic creative voices,” she affirmed. Quoting a Kinyarwanda saying, she added: “Umuco ni wo murage wacu – Our culture is our legacy,” inspiring participants to shape a peaceful future through art and diplomacy.
