The Minister of State in the Ministry of Youth and Arts, Sandrine Umutoni, visited the production set of the Bisesero film project, where she met with the cast and production team working to bring to life the story of the Bisesero resistance during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

The film tells the story through the eyes of Epiphanie, the daughter of Aminadabu Birara, who led one of the most remarkable acts of resistance in Bisesero. Through this production, the filmmakers seek to preserve an important chapter of Rwanda's history while honouring the courage, resilience, and dignity of the people of Bisesero.

During the visit, the Minister of State commended the production team for their dedication to historical accuracy and their commitment to telling Rwanda's stories with authenticity and respect. She noted that creative works such as Bisesero play an important role in preserving memory, educating future generations, and promoting a deeper understanding of Rwanda's history.

The Ministry of Youth and Arts recognizes the creative industry as a powerful platform for preserving cultural heritage, strengthening national identity, and sharing Rwanda's stories with audiences around the world.
