The Minister had the opportunity to observe the facilities where participants received hands-on training in fashion design. These young people, once classified as NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), are now equipped with practical skills and are ready to join the job market.
The visit underscored the ongoing commitment to creating sustainable job opportunities for Rwandan youth under the Aguka initiative. Minister Dr. Utumatwishima encouraged continued collaboration to expand youth employment programs. Special appreciation goes to the European Union in Rwanda (EUinRW), UNDP Rwanda, DikamFashion, and C&D Products for their invaluable support. As H.E. Belén Calvo Uyarra, EU Ambassador to Rwanda, stated, “The future belongs to those who are ready to shape it.” UNDP Rwanda also emphasized that “youth are not a problem to be solved, but a solution to be unlocked.”
