The Silver Gala Celebrates African Creativity and Youth Empowerment Through the Arts
Yesterday November 2, 2025 at BK Arena, the Minister of State for Youth, Hon. Sandrine Umutoni, joined government officials, creatives, and development partners at The Silver Gala, an event organized by Sherrie Silver and the Sherrie Silver Foundation to celebrate African creativity, talent, and youth empowerment through the arts.
In her remarks, Hon. Umutoni Sandrine commended Sherrie Silver for using her talents to uplift others, create opportunities, and contribute to the global recognition of Africa’s creativity.
“This evening is a testament to what happens when we believe in youth and invest in the ecosystem of the arts, as a strategic pillar of national transformation,” said Minister Umutoni.
She further highlighted that, under the leadership of H.E. President Paul Kagame, the Government of Rwanda has placed creativity and innovation at the heart of national transformation, recognizing the arts as a vital sector for socio-economic development.
Addressing the young creatives, Minister Umutoni Sandrine encouraged them to pursue their dreams with determination and integrity:
“Your dreams are valid. Your art matters. And your country believes in you. But remember, belief alone is not enough. Discipline, collaboration, and excellence must be your daily practice.”
In her concluding remarks, she called on partners, investors, and friends of Rwanda to continue investing in youth through mentorship, exposure, and sustainable opportunities.
“When you invest in a young creative, you are investing in Rwanda’s economic resilience,” she affirmed.
The Silver Gala served as a powerful reminder of the transformative role of the arts in fostering creativity, unity, and sustainable development across Africa.
