Youth Economic Empowerment General Directorate
The Youth Economic Empowerment General Directorate is dedicated to enhancing youth participation in Rwanda's economic growth through strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
Formulating and coordinating the development of policies, strategies, and programs that support youth economic empowerment, including employment creation, entrepreneurship, and skills development.
Leading youth employment initiatives, fostering job creation by promoting employment centers, job desks, and self-employment opportunities, while conducting labor market analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
Developing programs that enhance youth entrepreneurship, focusing on improving access to finance, promoting financial literacy, and connecting young entrepreneurs with financial institutions and investors.
Supporting youth cooperatives and associations by designing programs to promote cooperative values, providing capacity-building resources, and establishing partnerships to expand access to funding and management tools.
Encouraging youth skills development and innovation, with a focus on digital literacy, technical and soft skills, and fostering partnerships that promote innovation and entrepreneurial growth.
Overseeing the implementation of youth economic empowerment programs, ensuring their alignment with national priorities, while coordinating monitoring and evaluation to track performance and impact.
Advocating for policies that support youth economic inclusion, collaborating with policymakers, financial institutions, and global stakeholders to create a conducive environment for youth entrepreneurship and skills development.
