Arts Promotion Directorate
The Arts Promotion General Directorate is responsible for a broad range of initiatives aimed at advancing Rwanda's creative industries.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and executing comprehensive policies that foster growth and innovation within Rwanda's arts sector, ensuring alignment with national creative economy policies and strategies.
Facilitating the development of artistic start-ups by providing training, mentorship, and access to resources, supporting their sustainability and fostering innovation in arts-related businesses.
Promoting Rwanda’s visual arts, craft, performing arts, literary arts and design industries both domestically and internationally by enabling artists to participate in exhibitions, trade fairs, and collaborative projects.
Strengthening arts federations through the organization of training programs, workshops, and mentorship aimed at enhancing leadership and organizational capabilities within the creative community.
Implementing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of arts programs, ensuring they align with strategic goals and continuously improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
Advocating for policies, incentives, and investments that support the development and sustainability of the arts sector, while also seeking funding and international support.
Ensuring the arts sector operates under established legal frameworks by regularly updating and enforcing regulations, standards, and guidelines in accordance with national and international laws.
